 IN LOVING MEMORY OF

A Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Friend to so many

 Dr. Earl S Green

NOVEMBER 17, 1967  –  JANUARY 24, 2023

No winter without a spring

And beyond the dark horizon

Our hearts will once more sing ….

For those who leave us for a while

Have only gone away

Out of a restless, care worn world

Into a brighter day

A LIFETIME OF MEMORIES

WE LOVE YOU, ALWAYS & FOREVER

Goodbye my friend it’s hard to say here it ends,
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun,
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time….

Father in Heaven, comfort those who are bereaved I pray, Amen!

Tribute to the late Dr. Earl Green,
While it is a somber mood and one filled with sadness and sorrow I would like to take the time to honour our late president of the Jamaica Association of Petroleum Marketers (JAPM), Dr. Earl Green.
Dr Green was a member of the JAPM since 2019 and was a driving force behind several initiatives and projects. Most notable, are his work as Chair of the Emergency Response Guide Committee as well as the engagements done with the state agencies such as NEPA and the BSJ to advance the interest of the petroleum industry. He was pivotal in drafting the responses to the environmental regulators in regard to “NRCA GUIDELINES FOR DETERMINING THE FREQUENCY OF STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY TESTS FOR UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS”. His knowledge and experience with both local and international regulations were integral in not only the drafting of the response but an acceptance of many items by the regulator agency. That led to a mutual agreement to modify clauses in the guidelines and assisted the industry to alleviate some of the financial consequences that came with them.

Dr. Green was very astute and confident when he deliberated on matters. He articulated his arguments with conviction punctuating them with knowledge and experience that left no doubt in the minds of his listeners about his position on issues of importance to the industry. He was an advocate for safety and emergency response and constantly encouraged the members to improve on their readiness to avert major catastrophes.
Dr Green’s leadership of the association was unfortunately short but what he accomplished in that time would have laid a foundation to propel JAPM to its desired prominence in the petroleum industry. He assumed the position in May 2022 and through his leadership, we were able to complete a Strategic Plan, the first for the association which set the tone for the rebranding of the JAPM. In addition, He was able to convince new players in the industry to become members. It is this approach to business that will define his leadership and legacy and certainly set the pace for his successor.
On behalf of JAPM, we want to extend condolences to his family (Wife and Children) as well as his co-workers at TOTAL Energies, friends and other well-wishers. Let us remember the time he shared with us and the value-added conversations we had with him. Let us remember the contribution he made to the discourse where he found a space to give his knowledge and experiences. Let us remember a man whose spirit and love had no limits.
May his soul rest in peace and light eternally shine on him. God be with his family and friends in this time of their bereavement and while memories are all we have, let us cherish them in our hearts

I haven’t faced up to your passing as yet. It’s too painful. We met over 30 years ago and from day 1 I was impressed by your work ethic, intellectual horsepower, warmth and sense of humor. You contributed so much to your family, friends and the wider society. You inspired me in so many ways. I loved listening to you talking about engineering, technology, culture and business, and I will remember you fondly for the precious moments we shared, just shooting the breeze. I will be here for Karen and the kids, to do all in my power to support them in any way I can. I miss you so much.
